Children’s Festival 2015

After the success of last year’s entertainment, Tara Green has been working hard to find the best workshops and activities to keep you children entertained over the glorious green grassy grounds of Christ Church School. Entrance to the area is via the gate that you will find half way up the right hand side of the main festival field.

ALL events in the Festival Fun Tents are FREE.

Kids Area 2015

12:30pm: My favourite Character Superhero Party
For 2 – 6 year olds. Singing, puppets, instruments, games and play! (60 mins) www.myfavouritecharacter.com

1.30pm: Sing and Sing Croydon
Becca Balcombe brings you a relaxed, fun singing session to introduce you and your 0 – 2.5 year old children to baby singing (30 mins). www.singandsign.com

2.00pm: Krafty Kids Club

3:00pm: Hupsilly Hill Pirate and Princess Party
Learn how to be a Princess or Pirate with the help of the Hupsilly Hill characters. Make a tiara or pirate hat to take away with you (30 mins). www.hupsillyhill.com

4:00pm: Younger Generation Theatre Group
Gemzy and the YG team will teach a street dance routine. Ages 6-14 (50mins). www.younggeneration.co.uk

5.00pm: Allsorts Knight Party
Come party and play with Sir Dancealot. He’s a Knight of the wrong table. Magic, puppets and mayhem. For children aged 3 – 7 years.

12.30pm  Hupsilly Hill Pirate and Princess Party

1.00pm: Yelo Dance Company

Join Miss Lorraine and some of the Yelo Students as they present a fun dance routine for all to learn and enjoy. www.yelodance

1.30pm: Baby Ballerina Class
A ballet session for children aged 2- 4 years by local teacher Miss Lorraine. www.babyballerinas.net

2.00pm: MAD Academy Music and dance class for your 0-5 year olds.

3.00pm: Project Party (Beanies) Children’s Party
A brilliant fun activity filled party of games, music, dancing and happy children brought to us by the Beanies gang (60mins) www.projectpartycroydon.com

4.00pm: Theo the Magician

Theo performs a one hour fun-filled interactive magic show. Prizes to be won. Depending on the weather and the crowds, this session will be on The Stage or in Festival Fun Tent One.

12.30pm: NCT Croydon Bumps and Babies

An informal meet up for expectant and new mums, with blankets and toys for babies and a chance for grown-ups to meet other local parents and make new friends (60 mins) www.nct.org.uk

1:30pm: Little Apples Story time

An engaging story session for our 0-6 year old festival goers, presented by the lovely staff of Little Apples Day Nursery (30 mins). www.littleapplesdaynursery.com

2.00pm: Anita’s Yoga 4 -7 yrs.

Yoga has an amazing impact on health and wellbeing. Your children won’t know that though; they’ll just be noticing how much fun they haveas Anita takes them through a 25 minute yoga session adapted to the needs and energy of your 4-7 year olds. http://www.anitapeach.co.uk/

3:00pm: Purley Youth Group

4:00pm: 4th South Croydon Rainbows
Rainbows is all about developing confidence, friendships, learning new things and having fun. Come and try a Rainbow secession with Page 24 Primrose from the 4th South Croydon Group. The group is for girls but boys are very welcome at this session. staugustinesrainbows@hotmail.com

A sponsored walk for children up to 5 years old. This event is kindly organised for us by Shanel Sajid with all proceeds going to Action for Children. For the fourth year running Little Apples are generously providing our festival goers with a giant tent full of toys, play and craft activities in their stay and play space. Volunteers from NCT Croydon branch are providing a place in which parents and carers can come and have a calm, cool space to feed and change their baby. www.nct.org.uk

Come and show off or improve your football skills and try your feet with a penalty shootout. Visit their stall to find out about classes in the area too. See the new inflatable goal and test out your skills on the tarmac area of the Children’s Area. www.skillzcoaching.co.uk

Members of the Kung Fu Schools will be visiting the Purley Festival with Po the King Fu Panda. Have your picture taken with Po and fond put more about their Kung Fu School and sessions. Check out their kung fu workshop tomorrow too! www.kungfuschools.co.uk

Sal’s Shoes Collections All Weekend

Bring the shoes that your children have outgrown and let them walk a few more miles! The shoes MUST be tied together with big elastic bands please, to keep them paired. Croydon Scouting

Throughout the whole weekend, representatives of local scout, cub and beaver packs will be on site, running activities and answering your questions about the packs that your children can attend. If you are interested in volunteering in scouting then this would be a great chance to talk to people who do just that and make scouting possible for our children. Peter and Mary Cooper will have tennis courts set up on the playground area of Christchurch school all day today. Come over with your friends or family and have a practice, some coaching or a full-blown match. A fun area with all equipment provided and lots of play and activity guaranteed.
