Get involved in Purley Festival 2015

Purley Festival is a community festival, now in its 4th year, committed to bringing the best of music, arts and entertainment to our Purley location. It’s a labour of love by a team of committed volunteers. It started in 2011 as a brain-child of Fiona Lipscombe, the host of the fantastic Dale Road Music club and a life-long music and arts supporter. Since then, it has become THE summer event – thousands of people came to enjoy the Festival with us last year (even in the pouring rain! ) and we hope this year’s event will top that!

The festival takes place over a week with pre-festival community events ( such as last year’s swing dance, theatre performances, lectures and music evenings) and concludes with a 2 day Festival Weekend Finale, set at the Rotary Fields close to Purley Town centre. The weekend celebration of music and arts includes 3 distinct music stages, dedicated performance areas, a huge children’s festival area and lots of additional attractions. Last year saw more than 50 bands perform at the festival, more than 30 children’s area performers and workshop providers, diverse food and drink offering and a wonderful, community spirit atmosphere. And – however amazing our last year was – we want to top it this year!

But to do that, we need YOU – talented musicians, amazing singers, creative artists, stall holders with unique product, local business supporters and amazing volunteers. Read on to learn more about the opportunities or CONTACT us with any questions

  •  MUSIC & ARTS

We are immensely proud to be able to showcase some amazing bands and artists each year. With three distinct stages, we get an amazing variety of musical styles and influences – from BRIT school alumni, through pop, rock, folk, gospel, acoustic and many many more! Last year, we proudly showcased over 50 bands and artists and this year, we expect nothing less. We will shortly be adding in an application form where you will be able to tell us about you, add in your demo links and other media to guarantee yourself a spot.

This year, we also adding on a dance stage and making space for non-music performance artists – so if that’s your game – apply as well!

  • KIDS  AREA  ACTS

2014 saw us put on the largest festival kids area we have ever done. Dozens of workshops, clubs, classes, party entertainers and performers have entertained the little ones and the safe and secure kids area provided a great space for parents and their little ones to explore all safely. We want to see even more diverse offering this year and we are looking for great children’s businesses and entertainers to get in touch. We give you a great chance to show yourself to a captive audience of hundreds of parents. We’re finalising the area plan and available slots now and will be opening up submissions shortly so if you are a kids business or know of a great one – get in touch!
  • SPONSORSHIP & ADVERTISING

We are so lucky to be backed year by year by some amazing local businesses and it’s WONDERFUL to see businesses come back to us each year, recognising the value that the partnership with the festival creates for all. Our sponsorship and advertising offer includes ONE MAIN SPONSOR slot ( with unparalleled visibility on all our online and printed materials, festival space itself and access to thousands of potential customers) as well as two other sponsorship options  plus some very straight advertising too!

We’re just finalising our offer and will be publishing it here shortly!

  • STALL HOLDERS

The festival experience wouldn’t be complete without a quality burger, chilled drink and some fabulous quality snacks. We know that the stalls providing food, drinks and great products are a huge added value to our festival goers and we want to see THE BEST street food, ice cream, burgers, drinks tents etc at our 2015 event. Opportunities are available for food and drink vendors as well as stalls offering local services, great products and more!

We’ll be publishing some early bird opportunities soon so keep an eye out!

VOLUNTEERS

The festival would not exist if it weren't for a group of dedicated local volunteers who give up their time and talents to make the festival a reality. We all have different skills, different amount of time available, different professional and personal circumstances but above all, bags of community spirit which drive us to bring you the festival year after year. Each year we grow and are joined by new faces with fresh ideas, energy and enthusiasm and we want YOU to become one of them! We have lots of options available - from stewarding at the festival, blogging for us, getting involved with the operations, graphic design, event management, fundraising and more!

If you want to get involved, just drop us a line! We'll get back to you to have a chat about how you could get involved!
